Pickup
Please make sure to let us know if there are any other adults that your child has permission to leave with.
You will need to come inside to pick up your child at check-out.
What can they bring?
Students are allowed to bring a pillow, blanket, change of clothes, water bottle and one personal electronic device. (It needs to remain in their bags and will be for emergency calls only)
What can't they bring?
If you can't bring it to school, you can't bring it to the lock-in. We also request no outside food and drinks. There will be plenty of snacks, food and drinks available at no cost.
Is it safe?
We have an amazing group of volunteers planned for the evening. There will be a volunteer in EVERY room throughout the night. At times, we have 1 volunteer for every 3 students! We will have onsite security and an onsite health aide who is CPR certified. Every room will have chaperones. For more health information, please see the Lock-In forms.
What if they want to sleep?
There will be a quiet room playing movies throughout the night that students may sleep in or quietly hang out. Students are not allowed to share pillows or blankets and will need to remain a respectable distance from one another. This will be enforced!
(Drawing on the face of someone sleeping will only be allowed if it is a parent volunteer who falls asleep)
What if they get bored?
We have a line up of over 20-6th grader approved group games, as well as countless activities throughout the entire night, boredom should not be an issue! We have recruited several volunteers to make sure that we are always engaging every student and that everyone has a good time.
What if they are hungry?
In addition to 3 MEALS, they will have access to endless snacks through the night. Trust us, we don't want any hangry preteens either!
What if they get home sick?
We will try our best as volunteers and through classmates to turn the night around for them but they can use their own device or the school's to call home any time of the night.
Can my child arrive or leave early through the night?
We request that students are there the entire duration to reduce risk of any security issues. If this is not possible, please reach out to the YPC prior to the event to discuss.
THE YPC WILL BE HOLDING A Q&A SESSION 01/18 03:05PM-03:30PM IN THE ATRIUM IF YOU HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS.
